Attractive to bees and butterflies
This sun-loving perennial plant thrives as a groundcover, along borders, or in garden beds. Bright reds, yellow, or white bunches of flowers will pop up in early summer and stay throughout the hot months, tapering off in early fall. Dead heading the spent buds will prolong the flowering season. Yarrow is a hearty plant, able to handle soils of varying qualities and any dry spells throughout the year as long as their soil is well-drained. The colorful flowers will draw pollinators. Be careful to curb any unwanted spreading, as they can be quite sneaky with their rhizomatous spread. Deer and rabbits are sure to stay away, so plant these with any other drought tolerant and pest attracting plants. Yarrow is the perfect addition to Nevada gardens, adding a splash of color and hearty, native vegetation.
